14th August 2004:
I have added the fouth batch of sepia tinted photographs sent by Louis Lardi: Keyworth, Kinoulton, Kirklington, Kneeton and Langar.
26th July 2004:
The next batch of photographs sent by Louis Lardi have been added today : Elston, Epperstone, Farnsfield, Halam and Hockerton. Lovely!
21st July 2004:
Today I have added a further five photographs kindly donated by Louis Lardi. They were Colston Bassett, Cromwell, East Bridgford, Edingley, and a new church to the site - Cotham. All well worth a look!
18th July 2004:
Today I have added the first five sepia photographs taken by Louis Lardi, and kindly offered for addition to the site. They are very beautiful photographs and I am very grateful to Louis for allowing me to add them to the site. The photographs added today were Averham, Balderton, Barnby, Bleasby and Caunton.
I also scanned in and added an old postcard of Ruddington church which I recently bought.
3rd May 2004:
Added some old postcards of Hucknall, Greasley and Eastwood churches. Eastwood is particularly important, as part of the church was destroyed in 1963 and most of the church is now a modern structure, with only the old tower remaining.
28th March 2004:
Added an old drawing of Farnsfield church, dated 1855, before it was rebuilt in 1860.
24th September 2003:
Added photographs of Saundby, Bole, Littleborough, North Leverton, South Leverton, Grove, Gamston, Dunham-on-Trent, Ragnall, Darlton and New Ollerton.
I also scanned in some old pictures of St Peter's Church, Nottingham, Wilford, Southwell Minster and Newstead Abbey.
10th September 2003:
Added a photograph of St Faith's Church, North Wilford. This church is now used as a private school, and on my last visit the "playground" was full of children, so I managed to get back there just before the end of the summer holidays!
12th August 2003:
Added old postcards of St Peter's Church, Nottingham and St Andrew's Church, Nottingham, which also shows part of the Church (Rock) Cemetery in the foreground.
11th July 2003:
Re-took photograph of All Saints, Stanton Hill, and added new view.
25th June 2003:
Added photographs of St Mary at Westwood. I also added a link to the Normanton on Soar One-place study on the Normanton on Soar page.
4th May 2003:
Added old postcards of St Mark's Church, Nottingham (which has since been demolished), St Andrew, Nottingham and All Saints, Nottingham.
2nd April 2003:
Added old postcards of St Mary's Church, Newark, and St Michael's Church, Underwood.
26th March 2003:
Re-took photographs of Warsop, Wellow and Eaton.
Photographed new churches at Sookholme, Elkesley, West Drayton, and
Treswell.
Visited the village of Littleborough, but church was covered in
scaffolding so did not take a picture at that time.
Also, tried to visit
Perlthorpe church, but all roads leading to village had "no unauthorised
access" notices up ... and I'm not the kind of person who ignores those
notices. Since getting home I have found out that to get to Perlthorpe church
you can go to the Thoresby Exhibition Centre (Pierrepont Gallery) and walk to
the church from there.
23rd March 2003:
Well, this "What's New" page is new for a start. ;-) As the number of churches left to add grows smaller, is can be less obvious when new photographs have been added to the site. Now you can check this page to see if anything has changed since your last visit!
