He was born c1896 at Bulwell, Nottingham, to parents George Thomas and Eliza Dorn. George Dorn was a Coal Miner and a native of Abingdon, Bucks. After the death of Charles Henry, the family were living at 32 Hodgkinson Road, East Kirkby, Nottingham.
