William Ernest Drabble died on 24th July 1917, aged 25 years, and was buried in the MAPLE LEAF CEMETERY, Comines-Warneton, Hainaut, Belgium. He most likely died while in the advanced dressing station of the 3rd Canadian Field Ambulance.

He was the son of William and Sarah Drabble, of 99 Low Moor Road, East Kirkby, Nottingham.
