George Elliott died on 6th March 1916, aged 26 years, and was buried in LIJSSENTHOEK MILITARY CEMETERY, Poperinge, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.
He was born c1890 at Barnsley, Yorkshire, and was the son of John and Ellen Elliott. John Elliott was a Coal Miner, and the family had moved to Kirkby-in-Ashfield by 1901. Both John & Ellen Elliott were natives of Pinxton, Derbyshire.
George Elliott was also the husband of Elsie Elliott, of Park St., Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Notts.
