Sidney S. Franks died on Friday 23rd July 1915, aged 20 years, and was buried in the POTIJZE BURIAL GROUND CEMETERY, Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.

He was born c1895 at Kirkby, and was the son of James and Hannah Franks. James Franks was a Coal Miner, and a native of Kirkby, and the family were living at 39 Portland Villas, Nuncar Gate, at the time of Sidney's death.
