Albert Gilbourne died on Monday 23rd October 1916, aged 31 years, and was remembered on the THIEPVAL MEMORIAL, Somme, France.
He was born in 1885 at New Brinsley, Selston, Notts, to parents Jacob & Edna Gilbourne. Jacob Gilbourne was a Coal Miner, and a native of Eastwood, Notts, who married Edna Adams at Brinsley in December 1872.
Albert Gilbourne was also the husband of Beatrice Annie Gilbourne, nee Stewart, who he had married in 1908. Beatrice remarried in June 1921 to Alfred Slater
