Haydn Knowles died on 21st March 1918, aged 22 years, and was remembered on the ARRAS MEMORIAL, Pas de Calais, France.

He was born c1895/6 at Kirkby, to parents George and Sarah A. Knowles. George Knowles was a Hardware Dealer, and a native of Sheffield, who married Sarah Ann Wharmby at Kirkby in June 1892. At the time of his death the family were living at 21 Edison Street, Nuncar Gate, Nottingham.

His brother Ernest Knowles is also remembered on Kirkby's War Memorial.
