Joseph Oscroft died on 18th October 1918, aged 33 years, and was buried in the ST. WILFRID CHURCHYARD EXTENSION. Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Notts

He was the son of Joseph and Sarah Ann Oscroft, of 21 Church Street, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Notts. His brother, William Arthur Oscroft, is also remembered on Kirkby's War Memorial.
