Joseph Pepper died on Tuesday 18th May 1915, aged 21 years, and was buried in KIRKBY-IN-ASHFIELD (ST. WILFRID) CHURCHYARD EXTENSION, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Notts.

He was born late in 1893 in Pinxton Derbyshire, and was the son of William & Charlotte Pepper. William Pepper was a Coal Miner and both parents were natives of Pinxton. At the time of the 1901 census the family were still living in Pinxton.
