Robert William Sculpher died on Sunday 1st November 1914, aged 31 years, and was remembered on the YPRES (MENIN GATE) MEMORIAL, Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.
He was born c1883 in Bermondsey, Surrey, to parents James & Eliza Sculpher. James Sculpher was a Railway Excavator (in 1881) who married Eliza Crouch in 1878. The family moved from London to Kirkby-in-Ashfield sometime between 1885 and 1892 when James died, leaving his family in Kirkby. James Sculpher was originally born in Castlesea, Norfolk, while his wife was originally a native of Ware, Hertfordshire.
