Ronald Brittain died on Monday 21st August 1944, aged 21 years, and is remembered on the LEE-ON-SOLENT MEMORIAL, Hampshire.
At the time of his death, Petty Officer Brittain was serving on the HMS Pursuer. During August and September 1944, the Pursuer was serving with a British Carrier group, providing air cover for the landings in southern France. Read a history of the HMS Pursuer here.
He was the son of William and Annie Brittain, of East Kirkby, Nottinghamshire.
