Luther Caunt died on 14th August 1917, aged 23 years, and was buried in the TYNE COT CEMETERY, Zonnebeke, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.
He was born c1894 in East Kirkby, Notts, to parents Jesse and Mary Caunt, who had moved to Kirkby-in-Ashfield from Skegby shortly before his birth. His father, Jesse Caunt, a miner, was a native of Sutton-in-Ashfield, while Mary Caunt (formerly Smith) was born in Newark, Notts. They married at St Andrew, Skegby, in October 1885.

Memorial. Luther Caunt is also remembered on the Stanton Hill War Memorial.
