Percy Caunt died on 1st July 1916, aged 25 years, and was remembered on the THIEPVAL MEMORIAL, Somme, France.

He was baptised at St Andrew's Church, Skegby on 6th April 1892, and was the son of Henry Caunt and Emily (formerly Smith) who married at Skegby in February 1888. At the time of Percy's death they were living at 34 Vere Avenue, Stoneyford Lane, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Notts.

Percy Caunt is also remembered on the Stanton Hill and Sutton-in-Ashfield War Memorials. A younger brother of Percy Caunt also died in the war, and Cecil Caunt is remembered on the Sutton-in-Ashfield and Skegby War Memorials.
