Lewis Edwin Boam died on 10th October 1918, aged 26 years, while a prisoner of war. He was buried in the POZNAN OLD GARRISON CEMETERY, Poland.

He was born c1892 in Winster, near Matlock, Derbys, to parents George & Jane Boam. Prior to enlistment, he was living at 31 Appletree Road, Stanfree, near Clowne, Derbys, with his wife Annie Boam.

L. E. Boam, 31 Appletree Road, Stanfree. Enlisted  4-8-15. Sherwood Foresters. Actions: France. Promoted Lance-Corpl. Taken prisoner 22-3-18, and presumed to have been killed whilst working in a mine in Germany.
