Harry Brocklehurst died on 13th August 1918, aged 24 years, and was buried in the CERISY-GAILLY MILITARY CEMETERY, Somme, France.
He was born on the 15th April 1894, at New Cross, Sutton-in-Ashfield, to parents Harry and Clara Brocklehurst. Harry Brocklehurst Sr. was a Coal Miner, and a native of Eckington, Derbys, who married Clara Tomlin at St Andrew's Church, Skegby, in December 1890. Shortly after Harry's birth his father took the family back to Eckington, where they were still living on the 1901 census. However, by 1918 they were recorded as residing at " Glencarn," Forest Road, Skegby, Notts.
