Cecil Caunt died on Friday 30 August 1918, Age 21, and was buried in the FOUQUIERES CHURCHYARD EXTENSION, Pas de Calais, France.

He was born c1897 at Skegby Notts, and was the son of Henry Caunt and Emily (formerly Smith) who married at St Andrew's Church, Skegby in February 1888. At the time of Cecil's death his parents were living at 34 Vere Avenue, Stoneyford Road, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Notts. 

Cecil Caunt is also commemorated on the War Memorials at Sutton-in-Ashfield and Skegby. An elder brother of Cecil Caunt also died in the war, and Percy Caunt is remembered on Skegby's War Memorial.
