Harold Corbett died on Thursday 8 August 1918, Age 21, and was buried in VILLERS-BRETONNEUX MILITARY CEMETERY, Somme, France.
He was born in 1896 at Stanton Hill, and was the youngest son of William Henry and Annie Maria Corbett. William Henry Corbett was a local miner and a native of Wombridge, Shropshire. He married Ann Maria (formerly Wood) at Shifnal, Shropshire in 1874.
After the war a new Communion Table was presented to the Stanton Hill Methodist church by Mr & Mrs F. H. Crooks in memory of Harold Corbett and Harold T. Slack. [From The Story of Skegby and Stanton Hill, by W. Clay-Dove]
