Maps of Old Sutton in Ashfield
I have created the following maps to show Sutton-in-Ashfield from a period around the end of the 19th Century. The maps have been drawn using the street plan and names extracted from maps of Sutton-in-Ashfield dated 1877, 1899, 1917 and 1933.
The first map shows most of the streets of Sutton prior to 1900. Streets not shown may have been built after that date. There was a lot of building around that time, particularly at the bottom of Kirkby Road, Priestsic Lane and Outram Street.
The second map of Sutton concentrates on the middle of Sutton which was most affected by the 'slum clearance' which took place in the 1950's and 60's.
