William Antill died on 8th November 1918, aged 39 years, and was buried in MONT HUON MILITARY CEMETERY, LE TREPORT, Seine-Maritime, France.
He was born c1879 in Sutton-in-Ashfield, to parents Elam & Frances Antill. Elam Antill was a Stationary Engine Driver in a local coal mine, and a native of Sutton-in-Ashfield. He married Frances Hibbert at St Mary, Sutton-in-Ashfield in February 1873. She was born in Mansfield.
His younger brother also died in the war, and Sibery Antill is listed on Sutton's War Memorial.
William was also the husband of H. A. Antill, of 3 Woodford Cottages, Littleworth, Mansfield, Notts. Although resident in Mansfield before joining the army, he does not appear to have been recorded on any of Mansfield's War Memorials.
