George Bath died on Saturday 24th August 1918, Age 36, and was commemorated on the VIS-EN-ARTOIS MEMORIAL, Pas de Calais, France.
He was born c1881 at Sutton-in-Ashfield, Notts, and was the son of William & Rebecca Bath. William Bath was a Brickmaker, who married Rebecca Allsop at St Mary, Sutton, in April 1865. They were both natives of Sutton. In 1901, George Bath was recorded as a Colliery Pony Driver.
Prior to enlistment, his home address was 1 St. Peters Square,
Forest Side, Sutton-in-Ashfield. He was the uncle of George
Simms and Richard Simms, who are also remembered
on the Sutton War Memorial.
