George Berry died on Tuesday 25th January 1916, Age 20, and was buried in BIENVILLERS MILITARY CEMETERY, Pas de Calais, France.*
He was born c1895 at Arnold, Notts, to parents Samuel and Sarah Berry. Samuel Berry was a Coal Miner, and a native of Arnold, who married Sarah Cook at St Mary, Sutton-in-Ashfield, in June 1893. The family moved from Arnold to Sutton-in-Ashfield just before 1900, and later resided at 18 Forest Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Notts.
George was the younger brother of Samuel Berry, who is also commemorated on the War Memorial..
