BOOT W.

W Boot

Engine Room Artificer 2nd Class, M/12731(Dev)

H.M.S "Blake", Royal Navy

Artificer W. Boot died on 5th February 1919, and was buried in SUTTON-IN-ASHFIELD CEMETERY, Nottinghamshire. (A. B. 172)

Although I have not found out how Artificier Boot died at present, another of his comrades from HMS Blake, Sidney J. Lewis, Engine Room Artificier 3rd Class, also died in early February 1919, and was buried in the Lyness Royal Naval Cemetery near Scapa Flow, Orkney. This suggests that an accident in the engine room may have caused Artificier Boot to lose his life.
