Clarence Brown died on Sunday 21st July 1918, aged 22 years, and was buried in SUTTON-IN-ASHFIELD CEMETERY, Notts, on Wednesday 24th July.
He was born on 18th October 1895 on Kirkby Lane, Sutton, to parents William Henry & Emily Brown. William Henry Brown was a Coal Miner by trade.
Before his death, Clarence Brown lived at 66 Chartsworth Street, Sutton, with his wife.

A search of the Medal Roll Index on the National Archives Website shows only one Clarence Brown serving in the Grenadier Guards, under reference WO 372/3. It states that Clarence Brown was a Guardsman in the Grenadier Guards, 22681, and qualified for the Victory Medal, the British War Medal and the 1914/15 Star, in France during October 1915. He also qualified for the Silver War Badge, which was given to military personnel who were discharged due to sickness or wounds received during the war.
