Walter Buckley died on Saturday 16th September 1916, aged 24 years, and was remembered on the THIEPVAL MEMORIAL, Somme, France.

He was born c1892 at Sutton-in-Ashfield, to parents William & Ellen Buckley. In 1891, William Buckley was recorded as a Coal Miner and a native of Codnor, Derbyshire. His wife was born in Sutton. On the 1901 census the family were living at 4 Chatsworth Street, Sutton.
