David Burgess died on Thursday 9 November 1916, Age 49*, and was buried in Sutton-in-Ashfield Cemetery, Nottinghamshire on 13th November 1916. (Grave Ref. AJ1218)
He was born c1867 at Belchford, Lincolnshire, to parents Francis & Martha Burgess. Francis Burgess was a Farm Labourer and both parents were natives of Lincolnshire.
He was also the husband of Margaret Burgess (formerly Bills) who he married at St Mary's Church, Sutton, in December 1899. Margaret Burgess was a native of Scotland. Their address in the cemetery burial register was given as 16 Jubilee Cottages, Sutton, but Margaret later moved to 118 St. Michael's Street, Sutton.
