Edward Buttery died on Friday 18 October 1918, Age 28, and was buried in the HIGHLAND CEMETERY, LE CATEAU, Nord, France.

He was born on 27th January 1890, at New Cross, Sutton-in-Ashfield, to parents William and Mary Ann Buttery. William Buttery was a Miner, and a native of Wellington, Shropshire. He married Mary Ann Simms at St Mary's Church, Sutton, in February 1883. At the time of Edward's death they were living at 7 Morley Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Notts.
