Hilary Carlin died on Thursday 30 March 1916, Age 21, and was buried in ECOIVRES MILITARY CEMETERY, MONT-ST. ELOI, Pas de Calais, France.

He was born c1895 in Beighton, Derbyshire, the son of Joseph and Alice Carlin.  In 1901 the family are recorded on the census in Beighton, Derbys. Joseph Carlin was a native of New Whittington, Derbys, while his wife Alice was born in Darnall, Yorks. 

At the time of his death, Hilary Carlin's parents were living at Charles Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield.
