Fred Carter died on Thursday 7th September 1916, Age 21, and was commemorated on the THIEPVAL MEMORIAL, Somme, France

He was born c1896 at Collingham, Notts, to parents George Henry and Betsy Carter. George Henry Carter was a Boatman, and a native of Collingham, who married Betsy Allett at North Collingham in June 1888. By 1916 they were living at Charnwood Villas, Stonyford Lane, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Notts.
