Frederick Caunt died on Saturday 28th October 1916, Age 28, and was remembered on the THIEPVAL MEMORIAL, Somme, France.
He was born in 1887 at Skegby, Notts, to parents Jesse and Mary Caunt, who later moved to Kirkby-in-Ashfield. His father, Jesse Caunt, a miner, was a native of Sutton-in-Ashfield, while Mary Caunt (formerly Smith) was born in Newark, Notts. They married at St Andrew, Skegby, in October 1885.
He was the husband of Elizabeth Ann Caunt (later Johnson), of 47 St. Thomas Row, Tibshelf, Alfreton, Derbyshire.
Frederick Caunt is also remembered on the Kirkby-in-Ashfield War Memorial, along with his younger brother, Ernest Caunt.
