Robert Caunt died on Saturday 5 May 1917, Age 33, and was buried in LA CHAPELETTE BRITISH AND INDIAN CEMETERY, PERONNE, Somme, France.

He was born on the 4th December 1883 at Upper Green (now Devonshire Square) to parents Arthur and Ann Caunt. Arthur Caunt was a House Painter, and a native of Sutton-in-Ashfield, who was living with his family at 38 Club Street, Sutton, in 1901. Robert's occupation at the time was Coal Ganger.

Robert Caunt was also the husband of Clara Caunt, of 64 Priestsic Road, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Notts.
