Notts Free Press - In Memoriam - 4th May 1917

In loving memory of our dear son, Private John Charles Cudworth (11th Sherwood Foresters), of Sutton, who was killed in France, May 4th 1916. Could we have seen him still in life, or watched his dying bed, could we have heard his last farewell, or raised his dying head: our hearts, we think, would not have felt such bitterness and grief, but God has willed it otherwise, and now he rests in peace. - From Father, Mother, Brother and Sisters and Grandad.
