Harry Davies died on Thursday 12th October 1916, Age 21, and was buried in the GUARDS' CEMETERY, LESBOEUFS, Somme, France.

He was born c1895 at Sutton-in-Ashfield, to parents John and Jane Davies. John Davies was a Colliery Contractor, and a native of Underwood, Notts, who married Jane Turner at St Mary's Church, Sutton, in February 1894. At the time of the 1901 census the family was living at 2 Union Street, but by 1916 they resided at 21 Langford Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottingham.
