Cyril Dennis died on Tuesday 29 May 1917, Age 21, and was buried in the LIJSSENTHOEK MILITARY CEMETERY, Poperinge, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.

He was born on the 9th March 1897, on Stoney Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield to parents James & Sarah Jane Dennis. James Dennis was a Coal Miner, who married Sarah Jane Newton at St Mary, Sutton-in-Ashfield in December 1889. At the time of the 1901 census the family were living at 62 Stoney Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield.
