Notts Free Press, 31st May 1918

Archie Dove died on Friday 19th April 1918, Age 32, and was buried at the ST. VENANT-ROBECQ ROAD BRITISH CEMETERY, ROBECQ, Pas de Calais, France.

Although I have not found a baptism for an Archie Dove, I did find a birth for Archie Dove Gregory, who was the son of Elizabeth Dove Gregory. He was born on 21st March 1886 at Penn Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield.

The other "brothers" mentioned in Archie Dove's obituary were the sons of Arthur & Elizabeth Morley. Arthur Morley married Elizabeth Dove at Sutton in February 1893. His brother Frederick Morley is also listed on the Sutton-in-Ashfield War Memorial.

Archie Dove was recorded on the 1901 census, living with his Grandfather, John Dove, at 17 Penn Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield. He was aged 14 years, and employed as a Hosiery Factory Hand.
