John William Edwards died on Saturday 1st July 1916, aged 22 years, and was buried in the FONCQUEVILLERS MILITARY CEMETERY, Pas de Calais, France. 

He was born c1894 at Grassmoor, Derbys, to parents Joseph & Sarah Edwards. Joseph Edwards was a Coal Miner, and both parents were native to Walsall, Staffs. On the 1901 census the family were living at Newton Green, Blackwell, Derbys.
