Samuel Fowler died on Wednesday 26th September 1917, Age 22, and is commemorated on the TYNE COT MEMORIAL, Zonnebeke, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.

He was born on 11th December 1894, on Forest Side, Sutton, and was the Son of Edward Fowler and Elizabeth (formerly Hunt), both natives of Sutton. Edward Fowler was a Bricklayers Labourer at the time of the 1901 census. In 1917,  they were living at 4 Phoenix Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Notts.
