Walter Freeman died on Wednesday 16th January 1918*, Age 32, and was buried in the BOULOGNE EASTERN CEMETERY, Pas de Calais, France.
He was born c1887 at Clay Cross, Derbyshire, to parents Samuel & Eliza Freeman. Samuel Freeman was a Machine Clerk and a native of Clay Cross, and the family were living at High Street, Clay Lane, in 1891. Sometime after 1891 Samuel Freeman died, and Eliza Freeman was married to Redfern Scott at St Mary's Church, Sutton, in September 1896. On the 1901 census the family were living at 25 Reform Street, Sutton, but at the time of Walter's death Mrs. Scott resided at 52 Nesbitt Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Notts.
