George Eli Geary died on Tuesday 4th July 1916, Age 25, and was remembered on the THIEPVAL MEMORIAL, Somme, France.

He was born 18th August 1892 at Devonshire Square, Sutton, to parents Emmanuel and Louisa Geary.  Emmanuel Geary was a Coal Miner, and a native of Offord, Huntingdon, who married Louisa Collins at St John, Mansfield in September 1889. Louisa died in December 1893, aged 24 years. By the 1901 census Emmanuel was living with his children at 33 Swan Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield.
