Isaiah Gough died on 31st December 1917, aged 41 years, and was buried in the ALEXANDRIA (HADRA) WAR MEMORIAL CEMETERY, Egypt.
He was born c1876 in Swinton, Yorkshire, to parents Isiah and Betsy Gough. His parents were both natives of Dawley, Shropshire. By the 1891 census, Isiah was living in Sutton-in-Ashfield with his mother, who had been widowed at some point in the previous ten years as she was married to John Yale, also a native of Dawley, Shropshire.
Isiah Gough was husband of Annie Gough, of 10 Welbeck Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield.
