John Thomas Gregory died on 27th October 1914, aged 27 years, and was remembered on the YPRES (MENIN GATE) MEMORIAL, Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.
Known as Thomas, he was born on 13th July 1887 at Forest Lane, Sutton-in-Ashfield, to parents Thomas & Eliza Gregory. Thomas Gregory was a miner, who married Eliza Kendall at St Mary, Sutton-in-Ashfield in February 1876. On the 1901 census the family were living on Station Road, Sutton, where Thomas was employed as an Errand Boy, at 13 years.
