George Hallam died on Wednesday 18 September 1918, Age 23, and was buried in STE. EMILIE VALLEY CEMETERY, VILLERS-FAUCON, Somme, France.

He was born on 8th July 1895 at Barn Street, Sutton, to parents George and Eliza Hallam. George Hallam sr. was a Coal Miner and a native of Tuxford, Notts. At the time of George's death they were living at 16 Chapel Street, Forest Side, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Notts. 

He was the brother of Samuel Hallam, who is also commemorated on the War Memorial.
