Samuel Hallam died on Tuesday 20 August 1918, Age 20, and was buried in ALBERT COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION, Somme, France.

He was born on 7th February 1898 at Barn Street, Sutton, to parents George and Eliza Hallam. George Hallam sr. was a Coal Miner and a native of Tuxford, Notts. At the time of Samuel's death they were living at 16 Chapel Street, Forest Side, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Notts.

Samuel's brother, George Hallam, is also commemorated on the War Memorial.
