Lancelot Harris died on Monday 13th November 1916, aged 25, and is commemorated on the THIEPVAL MEMORIAL, Somme, France.
Lancelot Harris was born c1892 at Leek, Staffs; the eldest son of Lancelot and Mary Harris. Lancelot Harris Sr. was a Shoeing Smith, and a native of Leek, Staffs. On the 1901 census, the family resided at 2 Magdala Street, Manchester, and must have moved locally sometime after that date.
His brother, William Harris, also died in the war and is remembered on the St Michael & All Angels War Memorial only.
