Walter Harrison died on 26th March 1918, aged 31 years, and was buried in PARGNY BRITISH CEMETERY, Somme, France.

He was born c1886 at Kimberley, Notts, and was the son of Joseph and Catherine Harrison. Joseph Harrison was a Coal Miner, and a native of Wolverhampton, who married Catherine Coleman at St Mary's Church, Sutton, in April 1872. On the 1901 census the family were recorded living at Forest Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield.  

His elder brother Frederick Harrison is also remembered on Sutton's War Memorial.

Walter Harrison married Emily Gertrude Lister in 1905. Her last known place of residence was 27 King Street, Sutton.
