John Robert Hatcliffe died on Tuesday 8 October 1918, age 20, and was buried in DOINGT COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION, Somme, France.

He was born c1898 at Broughton, Lincs, to parents Joshua & Susannah Hatcliffe. Joshua Hatcliffe was a Shepherd, and a native of Bucknell, Lincs, who married Susannah Arden in 1886. The family were living at Grange Farm, Dalestorth Road, Sutton, in 1901.
