Notts Free Press - In Memoriam - 24th July 1916

In loving memory of Lance Corporal Thomas Heathcote, of the KOYLI,
who was killed at St Eloi, near Ypres, on July 17th 1915.
He bravely answered duty's call,
his life he gave for one and all;
But the unknown grave is the bitterest blow,
none but aching hearts can know.
We think of him in silence,
his name we often call;
There is nothing else to answer,
but his photo on the wall.
From his cousin Sam Heathcote.
