Fred Herring died on Tuesday 3 September 1918, age 19, and was buried in the ST. SEVER CEMETERY EXTENSION, ROUEN, Seine-Maritime, France.
Frederick Herring was born on 12th August 1899, at Mason Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield. He was the son of John James & Mary Ann Herring. John James Herring was a miner, who married Mary Ann Hayes at Sutton in December 1888.
He was the brother of James William
Herring, and the brother-in-law of Samuel
Sills, who are also remembered on the War Memorial.
