Notts Free Press - In Memoriam - 20th December 1918

Holmes - In loving memory of our dear Brother, John Holmes, 27557, 10th Royal Warwicks Regiment, who died at Meschede, Germany, November 25th*, aged 27 years. In a land among strangers our dear brother lies, not one of us near him to bid him "Good-bye"; But the angels in heaven are guarding his soul, Till we meet again at the call of the roll. Sleep on dear brother, as the days go by, No flowers can we place on the grave where you lie; Though the still dark waters do keep us apart, your dear sweet face still lives in our hearts. Always in our thoughts. - From his loving Brother and Sisters.
