Robert Henry Marsh died on Friday 7th July 1916, age 23, and was remembered on the THIEPVAL MEMORIAL, Somme, France.
He was born 22nd December 1894 at Lord Street, Sutton, the son of Linda (Linney) Marsh. She later married Thomas Yates in June quarter 1900, and they lived at 6 Spring Hill, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Notts. The Commonwealth War graves site quotes: "His brother William also fell". This must refer to his brother, George William Marsh, who was also recorded living with the family in 1901.
