Peter Wilson Parkes died on Saturday 16th September 1916, age 33, and was commemorated on the THIEPVAL MEMORIAL, Somme, France.

He was born on 10th January 1883 at Forest Side, Sutton-in-Ashfield, to parents James & Elizabeth Ann Parkes. James Parkes was a Potter, and sometime Labourer, who married Elizabeth Anne Wadsworth at St Wilfred, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, in April 1873.
